Our popular neighbourhood
Within ca. 800 meters is the famous naval dockyard “RIVA”. Within few kilometres are Val Calepio (Calepio valley), hometown of the homonymous wine, and Franciacorta, also renown for its vineyards and its many wine cellars.

Montisola
A proper mountain (the biggest island within a lake in Europe) which divides the lake centre into two channels. It consists of three main centres: Porto di Siviano, Carzano and Peschiera, all of them are fishing villages where fishing nets are locally manufactured.

A must be seen piece of art is the Madonna della Ceriola sanctuary located at 500 meters above sea level, to enjoy a better view of both sides of the lake and to overlook the Franciacorta region. No cars are allowed on Montisola, however cycling is widely used (bike rental available on the island) and a public serviced local bus is also available. This pedestrian feature of Montisola and its rural scenery make Montisola an astonishing oasis which can be entirely visited in just 3 hours.

Montisola can be either reached by boat from Sulzano, or with a slightly longer journey from either Sarnico or Iseo.
